Welcome to Grange Holiday Cottages

Doveholes Cottage and Corner Cottage, situated in a courtyard of traditional 19^th century stone farm buildings, started life as cattle byres. They have been sympathetically converted to retain many of the original features without  sacrificing the high standard of facilities and comfort expected of  a four star establishment.

Each sleeps a maximum of six persons plus a baby and has one double and one twin bedroom, both en-suite with a bed settee in the living room. Alternatively a folding single bed is available to accommodate a third person in the the twin room. A cot, high chair & reliable baby sitting service are available. One dog may be accommodated by prior arrangement and for which there is an extra charge.

The cottages have the benefit of full oil fired central heating and the equipment provided is up-to-date and of a high standard. Each Cottage has a double fan oven, ceramic hob, microwave, refrigerator and freezer. There is a TV with text and video; hi-fi with radio, CD and tape player. A range of videos, CD's and tapes are provided as well as books, games, maps and tourist information. A separate utility room houses a washing machine, tumble drier and ironing equipment. Linen and towels are provided. Outside there is a paved area with a barbecue and outdoor furniture. A grass field adjacent to the cottage, which is shared by the farm livestock, is available for recreation.

Public transport is available from a bus stop half mile away and from trains at Belper and Matlock, each seven miles, and from Derby 12 miles away, although a holiday without a car available would not be too easy. There is ample parking right at the door.

The cottages are suitable for all ages, and being single storey with the facility to drive right up to the door, enable guests to save their energies for their leisure pursuits or the less mobile to enjoy a holiday without difficulty. Corner Cottage is fully accessible to a wheelchair user accompanied by a helper.

There are no hidden surcharges. The price is for the cottage up to the maximum occupancy and includes heating, electricity, linen and towels.

Grange Holiday Cottages are situated in Derbyshire's beautiful Ecclesbourne Valley, seven miles east of Ashbourne, seven miles south of Matlock and close to a footpath leading to the unspoilt village of Kirk Ireton, a mile to the north, with its 12th century church, real ale pub and post office shop. This village featured many times in ITV’s "Peak Practice", as did Idrigehay which is just a mile to the south.

The cottages are very well placed for access to beauty spots, such as Carsington Water and Dovedale, and the many Industrial sites along the National Heritage Corridor of the Derwent valley, while for the energetic there are theme parks, cycling, horse riding and water sports. Many specialist shops and factory outlets are to be found in the in the area. Local maps, guides and leaflets are provided.

The quality and value may be judged by the numbers of guests who make repeat bookings. This includes families who come twice every year, and one family who came here for no less than four separate weeks in one year. The cottages are fully equipped with linen and towels which are changed weekly. They are managed by the on site owners who can be contacted 24 hours.
